Log into the class notebook, go to content library and then "Flipped Classroom" to complete the Pan-Africanism Power point presentation and Windows notes. ****You can access the class notebook from ANY computer by going to office portal and logging in with your credentials to access the calss notebook. If for some reason you are not able to complete this at home you may come into my classroom on Tuesday morning at 8:00 a.m with a note from a parent/guardian to come down the halls to use a class computer.

Monday, August 28-September 1- Study the S.W Asia map and chart located in the "Notes" section of your notebook binder. You will have a quiz on September 8, 2017. Also, you may use the Quizlet & Reviewgamezone.com from the Class Resource on this website for the G5 standard as additional practice. Those students that have NHI's and missing assignments from absences should use this time to complete those assignments and get them turned in. Tuesday: You will be given a packet on the geography, environmental issues, longitude & latitude as it pertains to S.W Asia. Please complete every section for homework. All sections are due on Thursday, September 7, 2017. ***Each page is worth 16 points. Points will be deducted accordingly.

-Study all notes in the "Notes" section, your study packet and your Geography Quiz Remediation Notes from the Geography Quiz. The Geography Test is approaching.
***Review Games for G5 & G6 are on the class site & if you need additional help, practice or a challenge go to the "Personalized Learning" page and go to G5, G6 or G7 and select a Marzano's Self Assessment Level 1, 2, 3 or 4 activity. Remember: Level 1 means: I don't understand, Level 2 means: Help me a little and I got it, Level 3 means: I just need some more practice & Level 4 means: I need a challenge. Use "Choice & Voice" and find an activity over the standards G5, G6 & G7 and complete it; place it in your "Notes" section. If you have questions, please let me know after the "Warm-Up".
Week 8: September 25-29th
Monday: Complete your Political Cartoon and color your illustration if you did not complete it in class today; it is due tomorrow 9/26.You should study nightly for 15 minutes or more: your notes, charts, remediation notes, powerpoint presentations in Class notebook and your study packet. The S.W Asia Geography Test will take place on 9/29/17 (Friday).

Wednesday (Nov.1)- Vocabulary Cartoon Strip Due Monday, November 6, 2017.
Instructions: You will be given a cream colored sheet of construction paper. Fold the cream colored construction paper in half, then fold it in half again, then fold it into half again until you have 8 squares. Next, you should open the paper and notice 8 equal sections. You will then illustrate for each of the 8 key vocabulary for this unit. Color your illustration. The vocabulary term should be written in cursive in each square. On the back of the square you should write the definitions to each term. All definitions on the back do not have to be in cursive. If you have never written in cursive, add the element of research and do your best.
***Use the following key vocabulary terms in your cartoon strip: ethnic group, religious group, Arab, Persian, Kurd, Jew, Muslim, Anti-Semitic.
Please see the exemplar below: It is neat, the term is in cursive (definition is on the back). Do your best.

Tuesday (12th)- Socratic Seminar Presentation and Cornell Notes
Instructions: Open the Socratic Seminar PowerPoint Presentation and go through each slide reading the Do's and Don'ts of how the Socratic Seminar Works. As you go through each slide, take Cornell Notes about "how" the Socratic Seminar works. Jot down any questions that you have to the left and ask them in class on tomorrow. You must complete this assignment in order to be successful with the Socratic Seminar and can use your notes to guide you during the Socratic Seminar. I will check the Cornell Notes on tomorrow and you will receive a homework grade. DUE: Wednesday, December 13, 2017
